Our Story
How One Man’s Recovery Sparked a Lifelong Mission to Help Others
ABC Therapy was born from personal experience and a deep belief in transformation. In 1995, Dr. Julio C. Landero, a man who had battled and overcome alcoholism through the guidance of Alcoholics Anonymous, made a decision that would change countless lives: he would return to school, earn a degree in social work, and create a place where healing and accountability could coexist.
That place became Associated Bilingual Counselors and Therapists, now known as ABC Therapy.
From One Office to Three Locations—And Thousands Served
Since opening in Las Vegas, ABC Therapy has grown from a single office to three active locations throughout the region. We’ve supported thousands of clients across domestic violence programs, substance use treatment, mental health counseling, immigration hardship evaluations, and more.
We’ve been listed on every major court referral list in Clark County. We’ve worked with clients from Las Vegas, Henderson, North Las Vegas, Mesquite, Pahrump, and Boulder City—and we continue to serve those with out-of-state legal cases who are often turned away elsewhere.
Meeting a Critical Need in the Community
Dr. Landero saw what so many overlooked: Spanish-speaking clients in Southern Nevada—especially those involved in the court system—lacked access to culturally competent, bilingual mental health and substance abuse treatment. The system wasn’t built for them. He decided to build something that was.
ABC Therapy became one of the first providers in the region to offer professional, bilingual, trauma-informed care specifically for people navigating legal, emotional, and cultural challenges. Over time, it expanded into a trusted behavioral health center recognized across Nevada.
Still a Family-Led Agency—Still Rooted in Purpose
