What to Expect
Starting Therapy or a Court-Mandated Program Can Feel Intimidating—But It Doesn’t Have to Be
At ABC Therapy, we understand that many of our clients arrive here feeling overwhelmed, skeptical, or unsure. Some are here because a court told them to be. Others are here because something in life just isn’t working anymore.
Whatever brings you in, you’ll be treated with dignity, honesty, and professionalism—from the very first call to the final session.
Our Specialty Evaluation Services Include
Step 1: Initial Contact and Scheduling
Call, email, or visit one of our three locations in East Las Vegas, West Las Vegas, or Henderson. Our team will ask a few basic questions:
- Are you here voluntarily or by court order
- What services do you need (evaluation, class, or counseling)
- What language do you prefer—English or Spanish
We’ll then schedule your intake appointment or register you for the next available class.
Step 2: Intake and Documentation
On your first visit, please bring any documents related to your referral:
- Court orders
- Probation paperwork
- Legal letters or case numbers
- Attorney correspondence (if applicable)
We’ll review these, verify which service you need, and explain the next steps. All paperwork is available in both English and Spanish.
Step 3: Evaluation or Enrollment
Depending on your needs, you’ll either:
- Complete a clinical evaluation (for DUI, substance abuse, gambling, custody, or EAP referrals)
- Begin therapy (individual, couples, family, or trauma-related)
- Join a class (court-mandated classes such as domestic violence, anger management, theft, or DUI school)
All sessions and classes are led by licensed, bilingual professionals who will walk you through expectations and goals.
Step 4: Ongoing Support and Court Reporting
If your case requires documentation:
- We’ll track attendance, participation, and progress
- We’ll issue formal completion certificates
- We can communicate with attorneys or probation officers as needed (with your consent)
If you’re self-referred or working on personal growth, we’ll continue to support your goals through counseling and referrals.
